Alpengarten (Alpine garden) Kaltenbach

Between gentian and edelweiss: the Alpengarten near Kaltenbach

Alpengarten bei Kaltenbach
Der Enzian blüht sehenswert.

What would the Alps be without their mountain flowers? Fine natural plants, including the gentian, edelweiss, cyclamen and silver thistle can be found in a small paradise, the Alpengarten near Kaltenbach. The Alpenblumenweg (the Alp flower road) that will lead you to the Alpengarten is quite an experience in itself.

As a small nature excursion in the Ziller valley during the warmer months of the year, from June to October, the excursion to the Alpengarten is certainly suitable and worthwhile.  Via the Zillertaler Höhenstraße you will reach the Kaltenbacher Skihütte at 1.800 metres.

From Kaltenbach, Fügen or Zell am Ziller one has easy access to the hut, without too many detours. From here the Alpenblumenweg will lead you to the Alpengarten. You can expect 45 minutes travelling time before you will have reached your destination. Not only mountain plants, but also gorgeous panoramic views of the Ziller valley mountains, picturesque forests and rich green pastures will await you there.

Detailed weather forecasts for the villages Fügen, Zell am Ziller, Gerlos, Mayrhofen and Tux.
