Nestled between mountains and glaciers is the alpine storage reservoir Kaprun. A great scenery, perfect for beautiful hiking and climbing tours. 

Upper level - Moserboden storage reservoir

Regularly guided tours along the retaining walls are held that are interesting and exciting for both experts and amateurs. Nowadays renewable energy play a major role, but the history of the Tauern power station go back further in time and involves struggles regarding this project, with risk of failure during a longer period of time. In addition to the historical and technical details there is also a guided tour inside the retaining wall - an extraordinary experience.

Main level - Wasserfallboden storage reservoir 

"Strom und Eis" (Power and ice) grants the visitor insight into the world of power stations; the theme of a second exhibition focuses on the glacier world and explains the origin and the functioning of the ecological glacier system. A sun terrace and restaurant invite the guests to stay. The Wasserfallboden storage reservoir is the starting-point for countless hiking tours, but one can also go up to the peak by glacier lift.

Here is where the water from the various levels enters with incredible force, in order to start the turbines that generate power.
