The useability of the landscape in the Wildergerlos valley was practically non-exjstent before the storage reservoir came.  A small number of pastures, barren land with marshy soil, with hardly any agricultural or touristic value.  With the storage reservoir the Durlassboden became important. Nowadays it is not only the federal state boundary between Tyrol and Salzburg, but primarily a popular leisure destination. 

Today the storage reservoir Durlassboden is an attractive location for many leisure activities. With 21° C (69.8 F) the water temperature in summer is pleasant and not only suitable for swimming. The spring water in the storage reservoir Durlassboden attracts also sailors, surfers and anglers.

Here, by the lake, is where you will also find the highest situated windsurfing sailing school, the bathing beach invites the guests to stay, the boat rental companu with provide you with the appropriate means to have a romantic tour on the lake.  A children's playground, barbecue area and the "Seestüberl", a parlour by the lake complement the facilities. After long walks one can regenerate at the café restaurant Seestüberl and have a refreshment.  Here one can also purchase the day tickets for anglers.
